Something to live by

***Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were MEANT to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, teach a lesson, or to help you figure out who YOU ARE or who u want to BECOME. U never know who these people may be but when u lock eyes with them, u know at that MOMENT they will affect your life in some profound way. Sometimes things happen to u that may seem horrible, painful, and unfair at first, but in REFLECTION you find that without overcoming those obsticles u would have never REALIZED your potential, strength, will power, or heart. EVERYTHING happens 4 a reason, NOTHING happens by chance. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness, and sheer stupidity all occur to TEST the limits of your SOUL. Without these small tests, whatever they may be, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere. It would be safe and comfortable BUT dull and utterly pointless. The people u meet who affect your life and the success and downfalls u experience help to create who u r and who u become. EVEN the bad experiences can be learned from. IN FACT they are probably the most IMPORTANT ones. If someone hurts u, betrays you, or breaks your heart, FORGIVE them, for they have helped u learn about TRUST and the importance of being CAUTIOUS with your open heart. If someone LOVES u, love them back UNCONDITIONALLY, not only because they love u, but because in a way, they are TEACHING u to love and how to OPEN your heart and eyes to things. Let yourself fall in love.I've found that sometimes the road doesn't take you where you want to go, but you end up in places you'd never want to leave, with people you'd never dream of living without***

Why do People do This to Their Children?

I strongly believe there should be rules for what people can name their children. It is a shame to me that parents would do such a horrible thing to their child as to give them a name that they have to live with the rest of their lives to be unique or different. Leave that up to the child as they grow up. Now granted I have heard my fair share, I grew up with a mother who taught in the Portsmouth and Norfolk school system my whole life and she came across some names but they seem to only get worse as I get older. Let me give you some examples so you know just what I am talking about............

Orangejello and Lemonjello were some of the first I heard, yes it looks like orange jello and lemon jello but they would be pronounced (or-ang-ello and la-mon-gello)

Then of course there was Precious Flower and Jovian Laurel, as if her mother was shopping in her makeup bag as she chose her name.

There was also Syphillis (so-phyllis) its only spelled like the STD not pronounced as though.

Then I got a call a few months ago the name was SHADE yes I know shade like lamp only it was said (sha-day) you can't be serious.

There was also Female........said (fem-alley)

or Yvonne that would be (Y-VON-E) not yvonne like you may have thought.

Recently my mom told me a story about a friend who works at the early education center and a woman came in to register her children who's names were yourhynese, hishynese and herhynese. I almost died.

But today no doubt topped the cake. I took a new patient call at work and the poor child was 6 his name is Qweschun...............stumped yet? Yeah that would be pronounced question.

WHY?!?!?!?!?

I just don't understand can anyone explain it to me please. It is or to be original but not at your childs expense please people. I would love a good laugh if you have or know some to add please comment me.

Crosswalk

Every once and a while,a seemingly-simple email comes around that ends up being quite profound. This is one of them.

Awesome!! We complain about the cross we bear but don't realize it is preparing us for the dip in the road that God can see and we cannot.Whatever your cross,
whatever your pain,
there will always be sunshine, after the rain....
Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall;
But God's always ready, to answer your call....
He knows every heartache, sees every tear,
a word from His lips, can calm every fear...
Your sorrows may linger, throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish, by dawn's early light...
The Savior is waiting, somewhere above,
to give you His grace, and send you His love.

Garbage Trucks and a Philosophy Lesson

This one is great !!!!

How often do you let other people change your mood? Do you let a bad driver, rude waiter, curt boss, or an insensitive employee ruin your day? Unless you're the Terminator, for an instant you're probably set back on your heels. However, the mark of a successful person is how quickly she/he can get back her/his focus on what's important.

Five years ago I learned this lesson in the back of a taxi cab in Indianapolis . Here's what happened:

I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport . We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his breaks, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly.

So I asked, "Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!" This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, "The Law of the Garbage Truck." He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. I once knew a Pastor who would give the sign of the cross to such garbage haulers. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so . . . Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don't.

A Good Lesson.......Letting Go

A learning lesson on LETTING GO

There are people who can walk away from you. And hear me when I tell you this: When people can walk away from you, let them walk.

I don't want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying attached to you.

I mean, hang up the phone.

When people can walk away from you...let them walk. Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.

(The Bible says that "they came out from us that it might be made manifest that they were not for us. For had they been of us, no doubt they would have continued with us." [1 John 2:19] )

People leave you because they are not really joined to you. And if they are not joined to you, you can't make them stay. Let them go.

And it doesn't mean that they are a bad person it just means that their part in the story is over. And you've got to know when people's part in your story is over so that you don't keep trying to raise the dead.

You've got to know when it's dead. You've got to know when it's over.

Let me tell you something: I've got the gift of good-bye. It's the tenth spiritual gift, I believe in "good-bye".

It's not that I'm hateful, it's that I'm faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have He'll give it to me. And if it takes too much sweat I don't need it.

Stop begging people to stay. Let them go!!! If you are holding on to something that doesn't belong to you and was never intended for your life, then you need to ... LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to past hurts and pains ... LET IT GO!!!

If someone can't treat you right, love you back, and see your worth. LET IT GO!!!

If someone has angered you ... LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge ... LET IT GO!!!
